Incubating Chicken Eggs 101 Yahoo! It’s officially spring time. Okay, that’s not true.  And as a matter of fact it’s not even close to spring time, it’s only January and 26° outside. But nonetheless, I’m ready for spring and what is more spring like than baby chicks?!! Hatching baby chicks is one of my all-time favorite…

To Wash or Not to Wash Fresh Eggs

To wash or not wash farm eggs | homesteading | livinlovinfarmin

To wash or to not wash farm fresh eggs. That is the question. Growing up we always had fresh eggs. My mom was a nurse and she had several patients that would bring her fresh eggs at each appointment. I remembering the eggs always had a smokey/wood chippy smell to them. And yes, this is…

Setting emotional boundaries on the homestead | livinlovinfarmin (.com)

As a farmer, I often get asked how it is that I can raise, kill and eat my own animals, especially when I have raised them from babies. How do you set emotional boundaries? Don’t you get attached to them?  The truth is, I’m a animal lover. That’s how I CAN raise them, kill them and eat them. I…

Cheesy Chicken and Broccoli Chowder | livinlovinfarmin (.com)

My refrigerator is on vegy overload, thanks to my awesome organic drop box from FullCircle.com.  (love them!)  So today in hopes to prepare a hardy soup and make room in my fridge, I threw this together and it was flippin delish!!  The potatoes naturally thicken the soup without having to add any flour.  It also…

WELCOME TO THE FARM

Hi, I’m Katie. Our family lives on our fourth generation family farm here in beautiful Idaho. We milk jersey cows, raise pastured heritage pigs and poultry, scottish highlanders for beef and a few sheep for fiber.  Our journey is about healing the body through sustainable agriculture.  After being diagnosed with a autoimmune disease several years ago, I saw a need to change the way we think about diseases in today’s modern world.

Our farm prides ourselves on selling the best meat and dairy possibly.  We do not use ANY gmo’s, corn or soy in our animal feed.  Our critters graze on fresh green pasture and are fed a locally grown, locally milled grain ration.

Our products are available farm direct or at select retail locations.
