Alright, here’s the deal y’all.. I’m feeling chubby! As in, I only have 1 pair of pants left that actually fit my behind! 1 pair people! And as much as I love laundry (not really), I like feeling comfortable and healthy more!
I think Puss from Shrek’s Puss in boots said it best “okay so I may have myself go”. (In a super adorable Spanish accent)
My husband and I recently got back from a seven-day trip to Cabo San Lucas. Where I enjoyed every single moment and my waistline shows it; Gaining 6 pounds on our trip. Before Cabo was Christmas and before Christmas was Thanksgiving. And then there was a Belize vacation a month before that. Which I equally enjoyed every minute, raising my weight almost 20 pounds in the last 4 months. Impressive right? Maybe I’m just an overachiever. :).
This morning I weighed in at 135 pounds, I haven’t weighed this much since I was six months pregnant with my third child. Now, before y’all get all upset and say that 135 pounds is not overweight, let me tell you something, I may not be “overweight” but I definitely do not feel comfortable at this weight and I am a firm believer, that if you are not happy with something, change it!!
I’m typically a lighter person, weighing between 110-115 pounds. My mom and my sister are little as well, I actually tend to be the heavier of us three. With that being said, we work our butts off to stay at a healthy weight. (Except for me lately, however my mom and sister look amazing!) Unfortunately, we are not the type of people that can eat anything we want and not gain weight; we struggle just like most people. However, within the last year, both my mom and sister have adapted a Paleo lifestyle and have maintained their svelte figure, where as I, have gone astray and would really like to eat a candy bar right now. Just saying..
So here’s my plan, with your help and support I’m going to drop 20 pounds. I’m not going to set a deadline, however, I am the most impatient person in the world so naturally, the sooner the better. 🙂
Step 1.) Get back to maintaining a Paleo/Primal structured diet.
2.) Drop my Carbohydrate intake to 21 per day
3.) 1200 calories per day max (this means no ice cold beer!)
4.) Exercise, well.. In the form of chasing after 3 kids and maintaining a farmstead… Check!
I’m not typically one to count calories. However, I can easily eat an entire package of bacon, by myself. So counting calories is kinda my bacon boundary.
The body can safely lose 1/2 a pound a day. So, theoretically, I should be able to get to my goal weight of 115 pounds in under 2 months’ time.
I will publish my food journal and calorie/carb count. Along with the delish recipes as I go.
Ready, set, GO!
