Supplies For Calving I get asked all the time about what supplies are needed to keep on hand for when a family milk cow calves. So much so, that it warranted a blog post. I’m not saying that you shouldn’t raid your local tractor supply and prepare a plentiful medicine cabinet, because you should, But…

homemade wet wipes | Millhorn Farmstead

Homemade Wet Wipes I’ve been looking around for a easy natural household wet wipe.  I love my Norwex  antibac cloth, but sometimes I just want to reach for a disposable, pre-moistened wipe.

After sun butter. diy skin care cream | livinlovinfarmin

Last summer my oldest son returned home from a 10 day trip to Costca Rica.  It was a trip that was in the works for almost two years.  I’m super proud to say that out of his entire school, only 30 kids were nominated by the teachers and staff to go on this adventure and represent…

The Day In The Life Of A Homesteader

Day in the life of a Homesteader | livinlovinfarmin

While many people peg the homestead life as a ideal lifestyle, however, very few truly know what goes into just one day. Sunup to sundown. Every day. No breaks. No sleeping in. No “I’m too tired”.  Chores have to be done.  Living breathing animals entrust that you are going to get your butt up at…

Homemade Livestock Fly Spray Have you ever read the back of a livestock fly spray bottle?  It’s terrifying.  I don’t even want it in my barn, let alone on my cows that produce food for my family and I. However, having pesky, annoying flies on animals, especially when your sitting half way under them to…

Is there anything worse in the winter then dry chapped lips?  Seriously, I can handle being cold and crazy wind blown hair, but when it comes to protecting my lips from the elements, having lip balm in my pocket is a must.  It seems easy enough.. have lip balm, apply to lips, right?  Wrong. Do…

Homemade Toothpaste | livinlovinfarmin.com

Lets talk toothpaste, shall we!.  Boring? NO!  Come on, lets face it,  we all use it and we all need it.  The problem is, that commercial toothpaste is loaded with toxins and carcinogenics.  Why would I use something like that? Specifically the Laurel Sulfate!  Have you heard of it?   I hadn’t until after my 26th lupus…

Essential Oils on the Farm

Using Essential Oils on The Homestead

Essential oils are everywhere right now!  And for good reason.  Essential oils have been around since Bible times. 36 of the 39 books in the Old Testament and 10 in the 27 books of the New Testament mention the use of EO’s as medicine provided by God himself.  “Oil” is versed in the Bible 191 times. 54…

WELCOME TO THE FARM

Hi, I’m Katie. Our family lives on our fourth generation family farm here in beautiful Idaho. We milk jersey cows, raise pastured heritage pigs and poultry, scottish highlanders for beef and a few sheep for fiber.  Our journey is about healing the body through sustainable agriculture.  After being diagnosed with a autoimmune disease several years ago, I saw a need to change the way we think about diseases in today’s modern world.

Our farm prides ourselves on selling the best meat and dairy possibly.  We do not use ANY gmo’s, corn or soy in our animal feed.  Our critters graze on fresh green pasture and are fed a locally grown, locally milled grain ration.

Our products are available farm direct or at select retail locations.
